Site and security lighting
The work they name first, and the work you can go and look at. Parking lots, sports fields, building exteriors, the dark corner of a property that nobody wants to walk across.
Site and security lighting detailsLongview, Texas · TECL #17658
Cobb Electric has wired East Texas out of Longview since 1946. Ball fields, parking lots, panels, shops and houses. Same family, third generation, still answering the same phone number.
Four dates
Most electrical companies in East Texas can tell you what they do. Very few can tell you who has been doing it, and for how long, without checking. Here is the whole history, and it is four lines long.
1946
Opens the shop in Longview as Cobb's Southwest Electric, running it as a union shop and building the reputation the company still trades on.
1967
Frank's son joins the company, and in time takes it over.
1993
After several decades as a union shop, Charles re-opens Cobb Electric as a non-union shop.
2005
Beth Cobb runs the office by now. Her husband Paul becomes technician manager, and the third generation is in place.
Beth Cobb runs the office. Paul Matlock runs the technicians. Between them and the crew there is more than 150 years of combined experience, and every electrician on it holds a state licence.
What that buys you
None of this is unusual for a good contractor. It is unusual to have all of it written down where you can check it before you call.

What we do
Residential, commercial and industrial, out of one shop in Longview. If it is on a breaker, it is our problem.

The work they name first, and the work you can go and look at. Parking lots, sports fields, building exteriors, the dark corner of a property that nobody wants to walk across.
Site and security lighting detailsSite and parking lot lighting
Sports field lighting and parking lot lighting are the two jobs Cobb Electric names first, and they are the ones people actually see. A pole that will not strike, a photocell stuck on, a contactor that has stopped pulling in. We find which one it is before anybody buys a part.

Where we work
The shop is in Longview and always has been. Tyler and Lindale are inside the regular working area, and so is most of what sits between them. Churches, schools, banks, restaurants, retail, offices, industrial shops and a great many houses.
